A blog about my life as a minority in costa rica

Sitting in the airport waiting for my 12 p.m. flight to Charlotte!
Our light was cancelled yesterday because of problems with the engine, que suerte that they found it before we took off!
After 4 months of traveling, I have gotten used to delays, waiting around, and changed plans. I can’t say the same about other people on this flight! It is incredible how inconsiderate the people on our flight have been. U.S. airways can only do so much.
Hearing all of these people talk about how badly they want to get home just makes me sick. I wanted to turn around to some of them and tell them that I haven’t seen my family for four months, and they should stop complaining because they came to Costa Rica for a 5 night stay in a resort.
I am so excited to finally get back, this will only make being home much sweeter!
Goodbye Costa Rica, thanks for everything!

Go Saprissa! Today we went to a fútbol game at the Saprissa stadium. The game was Saprissa vs. Santos, and Saprissa won! That is the team that is from my area; everyone is a big fan.
Saprissa scored the first and only goal in the first half, and this win means that they continue further on in the season. It was an important game, so of course the fans were crazy. Everyone was decked out in jerseys and crazy hats. My favorites were the little kids all wearing Saprissa gear.
I’ve never gotten so into a sports game, something about being in the crowd with all the crazy fans makes it so much more exciting and emotional. It was a great way to spend my last full Sunday here! Now we are counting down- one more week!

An afternoon running around with Camila, I’d say it was a success. She gets so frustrated when I don’t understand what she is saying! But we have fun anyway. Today we ran around hiding in different places (way too small for me) and avoiding everyone in the house.

I really like house keeper number 6; her name is Karen. Hopefully she’ll be around for the next week and a half!

Can’t believe it- the count down is 12 days. And only 7 days of classes (thank goodness, it is getting tedious).

But it is so bitter sweet.

lovestrucklauren:

Had a post-run smoothie (mango, fresa y piña) and now I am about to go to a hotel and take a warm shower. It’s been a hot minute (+/- 2 months) since I’ve had one of those.

I can’t believe I am down to only like 17 more days! MY adventures here are slowly coming to an end, but there is still so much I want to do! These need to be a productive two weeks.

Pura Vida!
